Heal Better. Feel Better
When people call us at The Heal Company, one question comes up again and again:
“Which sitz bath tub should I buy for home use?”
It sounds like an easy question. But when you start shopping, you see small tubs, folding tubs, pumps, different shapes and now even automatic sitz bath systems.
I am Abhinav Jain, founder of The Heal Company along with Deepika Jain. After working on our own sitz bath designs and hearing questions from customers across India, I feel the best sitz bath tub is not simply the cheapest or the one with most features.
For home use, I would look at size, comfort, strength, toilet fit, bowl depth, ease of cleaning and water-flow system.
Here is my complete review.
What Is a Sitz Bath Tub?
A sitz bath tub is a small basin made to hold warm water around the perineal and anal area while you sit.
Instead of filling a complete bathtub, you can place a toilet-mounted sitz bath over a compatible Western toilet.
People commonly use warm sitz baths as supportive care for:
- Hemorrhoids or piles
- Anal fissures
- Postpartum discomfort
- Perineal hygiene
- Discomfort after some anal or rectal procedures
A sitz bath is mainly about warm-water soaking and comfort. It isnt a replacement for medicines, surgery or medical treatment when those are needed.
What Makes a Good Sitz Bath Tub for Home Use?
After looking at many designs, I feel people often focus too much on accessories.
The tub itself matters more.
1. A Wide Seat
This is one of the first things I would check.
If you’re sitting for around 10 or 15 minutes, a very narrow edge can become uncomfortable.
A wider seating area gives the body more support.
This became one of the things we focused on while developing The Heal Company – Sitz Bath Tub Manual.
2. A Deep Bowl
A very shallow bowl may hold less water than you expect.
I prefer a deeper basin because the whole purpose of a sitz bath is to allow the required area to sit comfortably in warm water.
But dont simply fill any tub to the top.
Place it correctly on the toilet and fill it to a safe level so water does not overflow when you sit.
3. Strong Material
This is one area where saving a small amount of money may not make sense.
A sitz bath is going over a toilet and supporting use while someone is seated above it.
So I prefer a strong, rigid tub instead of very thin plastic that bends easily.
The Heal Company Sitz Bath Tub is made from durable, BPA-free plastic and is designed for repeated home use.

4. Check Your Toilet Before Buying
A common mistake is thinking every toilet seat in India has exactly the same dimensions.
They dont.
Many sitz bath tubs are made for standard Western-style toilets, but toilet shapes and dimensions can vary.
Whether you’re buying from Rohini in Delhi, Andheri in Mumbai, Indiranagar in Bengaluru or Banjara Hills in Hyderabad, I would suggest checking the shape and size of your toilet before buying.
A good product is still not useful if it doesnt sit properly on your toilet.
5. Manual or Automatic Water Flow?
This is where sitz bath tubs have become more interesting.
A basic tub can simply hold warm water.
A manual sitz bath can also have a hand-operated pump that produces water movement.
An automatic sitz bath can use an electric circulation system.
Neither option is right for everybody.
Let me explain both
The Heal Company – Sitz Bath Tub Manual Review
Our The Heal Company – Sitz Bath Tub Manual costs ₹499.
We designed it for people who want a simple home sitz bath without electricity.
The tub has a wide seat and deep bowl and is designed to fit most standard Western toilets.
The Manual model uses one continuous pipe connected to a hand squeeze pump. The pipe connects with the water-flow nozzle inside the tub.
You squeeze the pump by hand to create the water flow.
What I like about the Manual version is its simplicity.
There is no motor.
There is no electrical connection.
You control the pump yourself.
And when you are finished, you can empty, clean, dry and store the tub.
For someone looking for a straightforward sitz bath tub for regular home use, I feel the Manual version gives a good balance between comfort, simplicity and price.
Price: ₹499
What About The Heal Company Automatic Sitz Bath Tub?
Some customers wanted the water-flow feature without repeatedly squeezing a hand pump.
That is why we also developed our Automatic Sitz Bath Tub, priced at ₹999.
The basic tub design remains focused on comfortable sitting, but the water circulation works differently.
The Automatic kit contains:
1 Plastic Sitz Bath Tub + 1 Motor Box + 2 connected pipes and nozzles + 1 12V DC Adaptor + 1 Storage Bag + 1 Instruction Manual.
There are two different nozzles.
One nozzle draws water from the tub into the circulation system.
The second provides the upward water flow.
So instead of manually squeezing a pump again and again, the motor handles the water circulation.
Price: ₹999
For the Automatic version, the motor box and adaptor must remain dry and the supplied adaptor should be used as directed.
Manual vs Automatic: Which One Should You Buy?
I dont think everybody needs the Automatic model.
If your main requirement is a simple warm-water sitz bath and you dont mind squeezing a hand pump, the Manual version at ₹499 may be enough.
If you prefer continuous powered water circulation and dont want to operate the pump manually, the Automatic version at ₹999 gives you that option.
The main difference is convenience.
Both are still sitz bath tubs.
And neither one changes the basic fact that a sitz bath is supportive care rather than a cure for every medical condition.
Is a Sitz Bath Tub Good for Piles?
Warm-water sitz baths are commonly used to help soothe hemorrhoid discomfort.
The warm water may help with pain, itching and irritation.
But if you’re buying a sitz bath for piles, dont forget the bigger problem.
Constipation and straining may also need attention.
Enough water, fibre, better toilet habits and medical treatment when required can be part of managing hemorrhoids.
If you have repeated or unexplained bleeding, get it checked.
Sitz Bath Tub for Fissure
Warm-water soaking is also commonly suggested for anal fissure discomfort.
A comfortable tub matters here because you may need to sit for several minutes.
I would choose a tub with a stable fit, enough bowl depth and comfortable seating rather than buying only based on price.
Warm water can support comfort, but a fissure that doesnt improve may need medical treatment.
Sitz Bath After Delivery
Women may also use a sitz bath after childbirth for perineal comfort and hygiene.
If there are stitches, an episiotomy or another postpartum concern, follow your doctor or maternity team’s instructions.
Dont automatically add salt, antiseptic liquid, essential oils or soap to the water.
Sometimes plain warm water is exactly what has been advised.
Cleaning Matters More Than Fancy Features
A sitz bath is a personal hygiene product.
So I would put easy cleaning very high on my buying checklist.
After use, discard the water.
Clean the tub according to its instructions, rinse it properly and allow it to dry before storing it.
With our Automatic model, the electrical motor box and adaptor should not be immersed in water.
A beautiful tub that stays dirty isnt a good tub.
Simple as that.

What I Would Check Before Buying Any Sitz Bath Tub
If I was buying one for my own home, I would check these things:
Wide seat → Deep bowl → Strong material → Toilet compatibility → Easy cleaning → Comfortable shape → Simple setup → Water-flow option → Storage → Clear instructions.
I would also check whether I really need an automatic model.
More features arent always better.
Buy the version that fits the way you actually plan to use it.
Questions We Get From Across India
One thing Deepika and I have noticed is that the questions dont change much with the city.
Someone from Prashant Vihar or Rohini in Delhi may ask about toilet compatibility.
A person from Gomti Nagar in Lucknow may ask whether Manual is enough.
Someone from Salt Lake in Kolkata may want to know about the pump.
A customer from Pune, Jaipur, Chennai or Bengaluru may ask whether Automatic is easier.
This feedback has helped us think about our products from the user’s side.
A sitz bath shouldnt feel complicated.
You should be able to set it up, use it, clean it and store it without turning your bathroom into a medical room.
Is The Heal Company – Sitz Bath Tub Manual Good for Home Use?
If you want a simple, reusable, non-electric sitz bath with a wide seat, deep bowl and manual water-flow pump, this is exactly what we designed The Heal Company – Sitz Bath Tub Manual to provide.
At ₹499, it is our simpler option.
For users who prefer powered circulation, our Automatic version at ₹999 offers that extra convenience.
The choice really comes down to how you want to use your sitz bath.
A Note From Abhinav & Deepika
Deepika and I started The Heal Company in Delhi with a simple idea: design practical devices that can support people during healing and recovery at home.
Our tagline says it best:
Heal Better. Feel Better.
When we say products that help with healing without medicines, we mean supportive care. We dont mean you should stop medicines or avoid medical treatment when a doctor says you need it.
A sitz bath can be one small part of taking better care of yourself.
And for me, the best sitz bath isnt the one with the biggest claims.
It is the one that is comfortable, strong, simple to use, easy to clean and actually gets used.
