Will a sitz bath shrink hemorrhoids?

Let me tell you one real thing… if you have piles, you don’t need big medical words to understand it. You already feel it.

Sitting hurts.
Going toilet hurts more.
Sometimes even walking feels weird.

I have seen this again and again… people from Delhi, Mumbai, small towns… same problem.

So question is simple – will a sitz bath shrink hemorrhoids?

Short answer (simple one)

Yes… it can help reduce swelling and pain.
But it works slowly… not like instant magic.

What actually happens inside?

When you sit in warm water… something very basic happens.

Warm water:

• relax muscles
• improves blood flow
• reduces swelling slowly

Think like this…
when you get swelling on hand… warm water helps… same idea here.

So piles (hemorrhoids) are swollen veins.
Warm sitz bath = helps them calm down.

Not gone in one day… but yes it helps shrink over time.

My personal experience (real story)

I remember one call from a doctor in Paschim Vihar.

He does piles surgery daily.
He told me one thing very simple…

“Surgery removes problem… but healing still needs care.”

And that care… many times is sitz bath.

Also one uncle I know… he was told to do surgery.
He was scared… like most people.

I gave him our tub and said try 5–7 days.

He called me after 2 days… said pain reduced.
After one week… swelling also reduced.

He avoided surgery that time.

Now I am not saying it works same for everyone…
but yes… it helps a lot.

When sitz bath works best

From what I have seen… sitz bath helps more in:

1. Early stage piles

If swelling is small… results are faster.

2. After toilet pain

Many people use it after passing stool… gives relief.

3. Daily irritation

Burning, itching… it calms that.
