Heal Better. Feel Better
You search for an adults hip bath tub with stand because your doctor has asked you to sit in warm water for 10 to 15 minutes.
You open a few shopping websites.
One product looks like a plastic bucket. Another looks like a small bathtub with metal legs. Then you see a white sitz bath tub that fits over a Western toilet.
Now you have three different products in front of you.
Which one should you buy?
And more importantly, which one can you actually sit on without worrying about falling?
Hi, I am Abhinav Jain, co-founder of The Heal Company. My wife Deepika Jain and I started this Delhi-based brand to design products that make healing care at home a little easier.
When we were developing our Sitz Bath Tub, I kept coming back to one question.
Why should someone need a big bathing setup just to soak a small part of their body?
But I also understand why people search for a tub with a stand. Not everyone has a Western toilet at home.
So let’s talk about what these products actually do, and which one makes sense for your bathroom.
What Is an Adults Hip Bath Tub With Stand?
A hip bath tub is a small bathing tub made for soaking your hips, bottom and the area around your private parts.
Some models come with a separate stand or frame.
The stand raises the tub above the floor. Depending on its design, it may also support the person’s weight while sitting.
But here’s something I want you to check.
Just because a tub comes with a stand doesn’t mean the stand is safe to sit on.
Some stands are meant only to hold a water-filled basin. Others are made as part of a proper seated bathing system.
Before buying, check the manufacturer’s instructions, maximum weight capacity, locking system and whether the product is meant for adult seating.
I would never suggest sitting on a plastic tub placed over an ordinary household stool.
Why Do Adults Use a Hip Bath?
Most people searching for a hip bath are not looking for a relaxing spa bath.
They usually have some discomfort.
Maybe they have piles and sitting hurts. Maybe they have an anal fissure that causes pain after passing stool.
Some women are advised to take sitz baths after childbirth. People recovering from certain anal procedures may also be told to use warm-water soaking.
A hip bath or sitz bath can help the sore area stay in contact with comfortably warm water.
This may ease irritation and help tight muscles around the anus relax.
But warm water doesn’t remove piles, close every fissure or replace medical treatment.
I think this is worth saying because some product listings make home-care devices sound like they can cure everything.
They can’t.
Do You Need a Stand if You Have a Western Toilet?
Usually, no.
If you already have a suitable Western toilet, a toilet-mounted sitz bath tub may be easier to use.
You don’t need a separate metal frame.
You don’t need to find extra floor space.
The toilet provides the seating support, while the basin holds the water.
Think about a small bathroom in Rohini, Delhi, or an apartment in Andheri, Mumbai.
There may be enough space for a toilet and shower, but not much else.
A separate hip bath stand would take up floor space. You would also need somewhere to keep it after use.
This is why I prefer a toilet-mounted basin for homes with compatible Western toilets.
But do check the fit before buying. A basin that rocks or slips on the toilet is not safe to sit on.

What if You Have an Indian-Style Toilet?
Now the answer changes.
A toilet-mounted sitz bath basin is not designed to sit over an Indian-style squat toilet.
You should not balance it over the opening or place it on an unstable stool.
If your home has only a squat toilet, a properly designed freestanding hip bath with a suitable adult-rated stand may be an option.
But check the seating height, weight rating and stability.
If you have knee pain, back pain, poor balance or difficulty standing up, you may need assistance or a different bathing arrangement.
For example, someone living in Jaipur’s Mansarovar area may have an Indian-style toilet at home and want a seated bathing option.
That doesn’t mean every folding stand sold online will be suitable.
The stand needs to be made for the job.
Is a Hip Bath Tub Different From a Sitz Bath Tub?
The names are sometimes used for similar products, which can make online shopping confusing.
A hip bath may refer to a larger basin that lets you soak more of your hips and lower body.
A sitz bath tub usually refers to a smaller basin meant for soaking the anal and perineal area.
For piles or fissure discomfort, you generally don’t need to soak your whole lower body.
You need enough clean, warm water to cover the affected area comfortably.
That is one reason a smaller sitz bath basin can be practical.
The product should be comfortable, easy to clean and stable during use.
Why We Designed The Heal Company – Sitz Bath Tub Manual
Let me explain our approach.
Deepika and I wanted a product that adults could use for warm-water soaking without needing a full bathtub.
We focused on a wide seat, deep bowl and a simple hand-operated water-flow system.
The Heal Company – Sitz Bath Tub Manual is a white plastic basin designed for compatible Western toilets.
It has a grey hand pump connected by one grey pipe to the nozzle inside the tub.
When you squeeze the pump, water moves through the nozzle.
You don’t need electricity or a separate motor.
The Manual Sitz Bath Tub costs ₹499.
For someone who already has a Western toilet, I feel this is a practical option compared with buying a separate hip bath stand.
And because the basin can be emptied, cleaned and stored after use, it doesn’t need to stay on the toilet all day.
One thing I would never promise is that our tub fits every Western toilet.
Different toilet designs have different shapes and sizes. Please check compatibility before ordering.
What About The Heal Company Automatic Sitz Bath Tub?
We also have an Automatic Sitz Bath Tub priced at ₹999.
This model uses a small motor for water movement.
You don’t have to keep squeezing a hand pump.
The kit includes the tub, motor unit with two connected pipes and nozzles, a 12V DC adaptor, storage bag and instruction manual.
The motor unit and adaptor must stay dry.
Both products are intended for sitz bath use.
The Automatic version is about convenience. It is not proven to heal piles or fissures faster than the Manual version.
If you prefer a simple setup, I would look at the ₹499 Manual model.
If you want powered water flow, the ₹999 Automatic model may be a better fit for your needs.
Neither product comes with a separate freestanding stand, so please don’t confuse them with an adult hip bath tub with stand.
Five Things I Would Check Before Buying Any Hip Bath Tub
I don’t think the first question should be whether a tub looks attractive.
I would check these things instead.
1. Where will you use it?
On a Western toilet? On a purpose-built stand? Or in a bathing area?
Buy a product designed for that exact setup.
2. Can it safely support your weight?
For freestanding models, check the adult weight limit and frame construction.
3. Will it move when you sit down?
A wobbling basin is a problem. Wet bathroom floors make slipping more likely.
4. Can you clean it properly?
The tub should be easy to empty, wash and dry after use.
5. Can you get up comfortably?
This matters for older adults, people with knee pain and anyone recovering from a procedure.
A product that is difficult to sit on or stand up from may not be right for you.

How to Take a Warm Sitz Bath at Home
If your doctor has suggested a sitz bath, start with clean, comfortably warm water.
It should feel pleasant on your skin, not hot.
Place your basin securely on its intended support.
Sit gently and soak for around 10 to 15 minutes, or for the time advised by your doctor.
Don’t add random antiseptics, perfume, soap or essential oils unless your healthcare professional has recommended them.
When you’re finished, stand up carefully.
Pat the area dry with a clean, soft towel.
Empty and clean the tub according to its instructions.
If you feel burning, dizziness or increasing pain, stop.
Can a Hip Bath Cure Piles?
No.
A warm sitz bath may ease soreness and itching, but it doesn’t remove hemorrhoids.
If hard stool and straining are causing repeated irritation, you also need to work on your bowel habits.
Eat fibre-rich food. Drink enough water. Don’t push hard while passing stool.
And please don’t ignore bleeding, severe pain, fever or symptoms that keep getting worse.
Get medical advice rather than trying one home remedy after another.
So, Should You Buy an Adults Hip Bath Tub With Stand?
My answer depends on your bathroom.
If you have a compatible Western toilet, I would generally prefer a toilet-mounted sitz bath basin. It saves space and avoids needing a separate stand.
If you only have an Indian-style toilet, look for a properly designed freestanding product with a verified adult weight capacity. Don’t try to turn a regular bucket and stool into a bathing seat.
And if you have difficulty sitting or standing, ask a healthcare professional which setup would be safe for you.
At The Heal Company, our work is about designing home-care devices that support comfort and recovery. We don’t believe every problem needs another complicated product.
